News:Chrome OS Based Netbooks in the Works

According to multiple sources, various manufacturers are preparing netbooks running Google’s Chrome OS. With hardware from Ivantech and employing a ARM processor which has certain energy efficiency advantages over the x86 architecture, but none of them support the Windows operating system. The netbook will most likely include Nvidia’s TEGRA Graphics chip and 64GB SSD.
The competition is starting to heat up.
The release for the Chrome OS netbooks are rumoured to be anytime this month. Following the same route as the Nexus One, the netbook will only be sold online and will not be available with retailers. Google is hoping to ship out 60k-70k units this month.

With Chrome OS based netbooks on the way, Microsoft’s reign as the preferred OS for Netbooks may soon be under threat. Will Chrome OS give Microsoft a run for its money? Or will Windows OS still remain king in the netbook space, let us know what you think in the comments section.
