News:LG is Prepping a New Tablet for 2011

The last the world heard about the LG Pad was that it would run on Android 2.2 aka Froyo, but LG canned the idea and is now looking towards Honeycomb as the OS for the tablet PC.

It's called the LG Optimus and it's expected to launch in Q1 2011. The Optimus will be powered by a 1Ghz Nvidia Dual-Core Tegra 2 chip which has the horsepower to run some pretty hardcore multimedia apps and games. The  8.9 inch display is another welcome addition since most other manufacturers offer a 7 inch screen on tablets.
Looks like the bees knees
The Optimus has the potential to blow the iPad out of the water based on the specs alone, but the iPad will retain the edge in software and it will take a lot of hard work to be beaten. With proper marketing and a decent price, the LG Optimus may very well be a serious competitor to the iPad in 2011.

We'll bring you more news about the LG Optimus in the month of January next year, when LG will be present at CES and has a massive press event planned.
