Warner Bros. Now Officially in India

Warner Bros. was one of the few publishers whose games never made it to India (officially), but thanks to E-xpress Interactive, they now will. This means Warner’s upcoming catalogue for 2011 that consists of F.E.A.R. 3, Batman: Arkham City and Mortal Kombat among others will now hit stores across the country.

Warner showers India with some love

In addition to this, E-xpress are even bringing in some of Warner’s back catalogue to stores like Mortal Kombat vs. DC, F.E.A.R. 2, Wanted, Terminator Salvation, Stranglehold and many more. Unfortunately, most of these games will only available on the PlayStation 3 for anything between Rs. 1200 to Rs. 1800.

Here’s what Anand Khemani, director of E-xpress interactive had to say on the whole deal: “Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is a publisher with a strong heritage and we are delighted to be able to work in partnership with them. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s strong 2011 line-up will significantly enhance our distribution portfolio.”

LG users confused on Gingerbread for the Optimus One

Ever since Google released Android 2.3, Gingerbread, owners of the LG P500 Optimus One have been fixated on one question – when will the phone get a Gingerbread update?

Initially, LG’s Facebook rep put a stop to all the speculation by saying the Optimus One wouldn’t be getting an update because its 600Mhz processor doesn’t meet Gingerbread’s 1Ghz requirement. Android lead Dan Morrill was not amused by this statement though, and he clarified on Twitter that there was no such thing.

Yes? No? Maybe?

Now it was LG’s turn to not be amused. An embarrassing public outing was not something to be taken lightly, so they quickly retracted their earlier statement and replaced it with this one: "LG released information prematurely regarding the minimum processor upgraderequirements for the LG Optimus. Google recently announced the Gingerbread platform and has not yet published the Gingerbread Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) or the public branch opensource code. Once the CDD and the source code is public, LG will evaluate the upgradability of the Optimus Series. We apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding. We will alert you as soon as more information on this topic is available."

I’m not sure whether to take that as a commitment to update once the compatibility list and source code are out, or not. Geez LG, make up your mind for a lot of us are waiting with fingers crossed.

Nokia X7

This one doesn’t show much apart from the fact that it has an 8 MP camera. The source shows us of a photo (with some parts being blacked out, maybe because of some details being revealed) of the backside of the X7 which, well, looks good.

Nokia X7 : Lying stable on the table

Interestingly, only two of the speakers were actually emitting sound. Is this another one of Nokia’s famed mess-ups or is it an issue with just that particular handset? There's no way to tell.

An 8 MP camera? Nice, nice.

While the N8 put up a good show, it would be interesting to see how Nokia fares world-wide and in India as well. Knowing the fact that they have a good share of the mobile market, they better be coming out with a good piece this time. Agreed, they’ve had problems regarding the E7 being delayed and other things, but you can still expect them to hit back with a critic-silencing phone! The X7 looks good, has a kick-ass camera and should be offering something more in terms of features. Let’s hope for the best.
