Will we be seeing you in February?
First of all, it doesn't look like Honeycomb's going to be labelled Android 3.0, like we all thought. It was the same case with Gingerbread, and it looks to be happening again. Instead, it'll be labeled 2.4 and will be released around the time of the Mobile World Congress in February. What this means is that we probably won't be seeing any Tegra 2 and Honeycomb powered Tablets, like the aforementioned Motorola and the Notion Ink Adam, release until after the event.
We'll probably get a closer look at Honeycomb at CES in a couple of weeks' time, what with Motorola and other tablet makers set to unveil their devices at the event. That is one of the reasons people believed Honeycomb to be 3.0, since it sports a brand new UI and multiple features aimed at tablet PCs. However, Google seems to be holding the 3.0 tag back for something more special, something that we might see around the time of the next Google I/O event.
